The success story

The creativity days format was born with the aim of addressing the sustainability objectives QUALITY EDUCATION , DECENT WORK e INDUSTRY & INNOVATION.

The format, born on the initiative of Jacopo Naidi - among other things, founder of Phoenix Factory - consist in the creation of interdisciplinary design afternoons between young students of different faculties of the University of Ferrara. Through some "game storming" methodologies, the Creativity Days allow a partner of Phoenix Factory to obtain an innovation project - mainly cultural - that can be implemented in their Company, Association or Institution conceived by the young people in whose province the Partner is based

The creativity days immediately received the enthusiasm of the reference student community; thanks also to the support - also in terms of economic resources - of the Cultural Fund of the University of Ferrara, the format was repeated in the most characteristic locations of the Estense city. The tangible results obtained by the initiative in terms of sustainability objectives were:

  • SDG 4 - QUALITY EDUCATION: improvement of the soft skills of the young participants, especially in terms of predisposition to team working;

  • SDG 8 - DECENT WORK: transmission to young people of project management skills closely linked to the preparation of their own project and it's execution;

  • SDG 9 - INDUSTRY & INNOVATION: innovation of the organization of the Phoenix Factory partners involved in the project.

The format was finally recognized by the Department of Economics of the University of Ferrara as an activity worthy of 6 CFU. The creativity days were also praised by the Municipal Administration in a press conference ad the format capable of "opening new paths for young people to the world of work".

The next evolution

With the aim of bringing more and more innovation to Italian companies, Naidi decides to orient the activities of its format towards open innovation, thus developing an innovative methodology to identify innovation solutions to be implemented in Phoenix Factory Partner Companies with the support of local StartUps.

The format - evolution of the Cretivity Days - is called "Open Challenge". During the first and second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the format took place online and involved over 80 young students from over 15 Italian provinces. The young people, searching among the startups in their area of residence, developed over 30 innovation proposals for 8 companies.

The founder has now decided to start his own business and bring the format he created to all Italian university cities: on May 15, 2021, Naidi made official the collaboration with the JE Italy network to bring his "Open Challenge" format to over 24 university cities.

Il Resto del Carlino dedicated an article to the initiative .
